Q: Who can stay at From Here Onward?
A: Adults only (18+). U.S. military veterans receive priority intake, but all adults willing to commit to sobriety are welcome.
Q: How long can I stay?
A: From Here Onward is a 72-hour sober shelter. Guests may stay for up to 3 nights. After 72 hours, you must either enroll in the program and move into Starter Village or exit the shelter.
Q: What are the rules?
A: All guests must:
○ Pass a drug screening and sign a sobriety contract.
○ Follow a curfew and program guidelines.
○ Work with a caseworker on next steps.
Q: What if I don’t have an ID?
A: We will help you obtain the proper documents (state ID, Social Security card, birth certificate). In some cases, your 72-hour stay may be extended while we assist with this process.
Q: What if I’m not sober yet?
A: From Here Onward is a sober shelter. If you are not ready, we will connect you with detox or recovery partners before you can participate.
Q: What comes after the 72 hours?
A: Guests who commit to the pathway move into Starter Village, where they begin building stability through community, service, and support. From there, civilians enter Good Samaritan Village, and veterans enter Permanent Party Village, with the goal of homeownership.

Q: How do you decide who gets help?
A: We focus on individuals who are ready to change: sober, committed, and willing to participate in case management. This ensures resources are used effectively.
Q: What makes From Here Onward different?
A: Unlike traditional shelters, we are not just a bed for the night. We are a gateway to stability — with a structured pathway that ends in permanent homeownership.
Q: How is the program funded?
A: Primarily through private donations, grants, and charitable giving. All administrative support is centralized under Do Good On Purpose.
Q: Can I volunteer or donate in other ways?
A: Yes! We welcome meal service, clothing drives, and professional skill-sharing in addition to financial contributions.
